New oil painting

Just finished. In many ways the view itself is irrelevant…..it is merely the structure upon which any inherent meaning emerges. But the aesthetics of that view, how it is put together and structured is very relevant and of course this has a lot to do with our appreciation of beauty. And hints at a deeper pull, we can ask why one thing has an inherent beauty and balance and another not so much. And in this question lies a particularly interesting truth.

The trick is to point this out in such a way that almost it is hidden ….. it is there without the viewer realising it is there.

It can be summed up in this way …. That which is essential is invisible to the eye
