Watercolours

These are a selection of watercolours done during a cycle tour of the West coast of Scotland in 1995. This was an image I proposed to a gallery in London, We already had been exhibiting with the gallery for some time and the idea was that as I cycle toured with various art marterials mainly sketchbooks but also watercolours watercolour paper and brushes as I finished a set of watercolours I would post them to the gallery where they would be framed and put on exhibition to be sold. This was a first attempt at generating an income while cycle touring, and it worked fine, the cycle tour only lasted for three weeks at the end of which we headed straight to London for the private view at this gallery. It was a great success and the gallery owner was very happy with the project. This cycle tour was also the first big cycle tour that I did with my late partner Julia Robinson. It was our plan eventually to cyle round the world and to do this self funding throughthe sale of my artwork. Something that I am now continuing to do with my son Aaron.
